Hey, I'm Sophie!

Owner and sole baker/decorator behind Little Olive's Bakehouse.

When I explain to you my slightly higgledy-piggledy career past you might wonder what led me back to where I am now and the start of Little Olive's Bakehouse. Let's go back to a young slightly lost 18 year old Sophie, I decided to scrap University and instead train to become a chef, leaning into my strengths - cooking and baking, I plunged myself into a 3 year diploma course with the last year specialising in bakery & patisserie. I soon found myself working in one of London's best (and funnest) cupcake/cake kitchens and also dabbled in a spot of Gluten Free baking. After a while the time came where I felt that I needed a change, so I trained to become a Personal Trainer and pursue another passion of mine - fitness.

I know, complete opposites aren't they!

So how did I end up starting Little Olive's Bakehouse? The pandemic definitely had a part to play in this, being out of regular work and having more time on my hands I delved back into home-baking and it hit me just how much I had missed being creative.

 

After moving from London to Winchester, Hampshire post-pandemic I set up Little Olive's Bakehouse, working solely from our home kitchen where I create beautiful, fun, and delicious bespoke wedding and celebration cakes. This little business dream is steadily growing and it has been an amazing journey so far! 
 

Here at Little Olive's Bakehouse I specialise in bespoke buttercream cakes for all types of occasions from birthdays to weddings. I am based in Winchester but often deliver to further Hampshire, and Wiltshire. 

I love to create pretty, textured cakes and especially love any fresh floral additions. Let's not forget my adoration for a delicate touch of gold leaf too!
